The Yummy
Ah, Italia. Land of classic art, cutting-edge fashion, and food that practically calls out to you with cries of "Mangia! Mangia!" With today’s deal, you can enjoy those delizioso Italian dishes without the jet lag: fork up $25 for $50 worth of fabulous food and drink from Tutti Giorni in Norwood, an amazing new restaurant that's Momma-approved.
When someone asks what's good, owner Rocky asks, “What are you in the mood for?" The dinner menu will wow you with its vast variety of fantastic feasts, including a veal chop Milanese ($29), zuppa di pesce with shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari and scallops ($28) and gnocchi Bolognese made fresh every day ($17). Our Momma TH enjoyed both the zuppa di pesce & the gnocchi Bolognese, and was wowed by their amazing deliciousness. "They melted in my mouth," she raves. She also gives the Momma seal of approval to the ravishing raw bar (she had the "best ever" grilled octopus). And the signature entree items are listed in the "Everyday Is Sunday" section of the dinner menu, which features the family's own recipes. "Sunday Sauce" features pork bracciole, homemade meatballs and "Arthur Avenue" sausage simmered in a classic marinara sauce and served over mezzi rigatoni ($16). Other traditional entrees include lasagna, eggplant parmigiana, spaghetti with meatballs and cheese ravioli; both lunch & dinner menus also include signature burgers and pizzas, calzones & rolls cooked to perfection in an authentic wood-burning brick oven.
Tutti Giorni (whose name means “every day” in Italian) & its owners, cousins Rocco Sicuranza and Dean Benasillo, are leading the charge to revitalize Norwood’s downtown, serving up sumptuous platefuls of Italian fare containing the finest local and imported ingredients. Rough-hewn logs adorn the exterior corners of the building, and inside warm woods soften the entry, bar and main dining room. Wine bottles are stored behind a glass wall in the dining room, and the "clam bar style" shellfish (including bluepoint, Pacific & East Coast oysters, as well as shrimp & clams) are visible to guests on a bed of crushed ice. "Our goal is to offer a reasonably priced Italian meal in a warm, family atmosphere," Rocco says, and Momma can vouch for their success. Tutti Giorni also boasts an amazing wine list and a to-die-for dessert menu.
With Tutti Giorni’s phenomenal food, you really could eat here “every day” and still not sample every magnificent meal. Holy ravioli, you’re gonna love this place!
